2nd Shift Maintenance Technician
Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift 1:30pm - 12:00am)
Job Summary:
A Maintenance Technician, responsible for the ongoing facility maintenance by performing routine PMs and completing repairs on equipment and facilities. The duties include repairing machinery, plumbing, HVAC and wiring, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with the building’s inhabitants.
Responsibilities:
Handling assigned work orders and PMs (inspections, lubrication, part replacement, etc.).
Performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks on automated powder production equipment, such as vertical stick pack machines, bottle fillers, checkweighers, X-rays, conveyors, case packers, rotary pouch fillers, carton packers, robotic palletizers, cappers, labelers, inkjet printers, etc.
Dealing with incoming work requests and performing work with minimal guidance and supervision.
Communicating existing and potential issues with the supervisor.
Using Maintenance Data System or paper records to log maintenance work.
Cleaning and maintaining the tools you work with, along with your work area.
Abiding by safety rules and policies, including SOPs and GMPs.
All other duties assigned as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to design workflows and procedures, along with demonstrating attention to detail.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Proficient with data entry and CMMS software and systems.
Certification in forklift and other warehouse lift operations.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair automated equipment, including but not limited to pneumatics, electrical, hydraulics, motors, conveyors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
Ability to understand and follow electrical and PLC schematics.
Stainless steel TIG welding and fabrication.
Data entry, math, and computer skills.
Effective team-oriented collaboration skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
Associate degree or trade certification is a plus.
2-5 years in a food production/facility maintenance role.
Preference for powder packaging experience.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, bending, and kneeling around machinery.
Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds at a time.
