Job Description:

The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing production costs. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Develop and manage detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.

· Coordinate with procurement, production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure the availability of materials and resources.

· Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address delays, equipment issues, or changes in demand.

· Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvements.

· Communicate production plans and updates to relevant management and floor supervisors.

· Maintain accurate records of production schedules, inventory levels, and work orders.

· Collaborate with supply chain and inventory control teams to optimize stock levels and reduce excess inventory.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.


Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.

· Proven experience as a Production Planner, Scheduler, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong knowledge of production planning principles, supply chain processes, and inventory management.

· Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.


Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

· Occasional lifting of materials up to [insert weight].

· Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.


Work Environment:

· Office and manufacturing floor settings.

· Occasional visits to production areas requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Possibly exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soybeans
